Beyond what's already available via various websites, what educational content (especially those made specifically to take advantage of iPad) are available for educators?

I'm reconsidering this question as it now seems all too generic. What do everyone else think? Perhaps we could start community wiki per subject as we've done with applications. – Jin Kim Feb 2 at 19:30

I'll be making Practica, the iPhone/iPod Touch app for music students to manage their practice sessions available for the iPad when it comes out. Additionally, there will be a teacher's edition to manage their students and the students' assigments.

This isn't content per se, but you should put Inkling on your radar. It's basically authorware for iPad.

I would agree with Fraser here, the teachers at my school like to create their own content that fits their lesson plans that are usually based off of the sheets they get from the exam boards, so far, inkling has been the only product that I have found so far that allows teachers to create interactive media and publish them to iPods, iPhones and the iPad without learning to code or using pre-written material in apps. – Richardr Feb 1 at 21:38

I found a pretty good resource on Apple's education portal for using iPod Touch and iTunes in edu setting.

I think it'll be a good place to start at least for the time being as many of resources for iPod touch would apply to iPad as well.

Unless Apple provides a native authorware tool for generation (or maybe conversion) of e-content that displays uniformly well on both size screens, the resources for the 'Touch and the iPad will remain separate. Early days yet, so it still may happen in time for the fall semester... – ianf May 11 at 10:40

With "virtual frog specimens" on offer, dissection of Tiny Humans™ can not be far behind. In fact, I'd much prefer that in a classroom esp. if the app allowed students to replace default faces with custom uploaded ones ;-)) [Back to work now]. – ianf Jun 28 at 14:42
